The MDA RIDE was founded in Prague by Josef „Káďa“ Kadeřábek and a group of his friends in 2009. The idea for the “Love Ride” charity event originally came from the USA. The success of the Love Ride has inspired founders of similar charity rides and events around the world, including Káďa.

The uncomplicated nature of the bikers, paired with people with disabilities and their families, supported by many helpers, sponsors, and a great supporting program give the event something informal, and light-hearted and leave room for fun and emotions. A nice sum of 182,000 CZK was raised during the first event that was held at the parking lot of the Letňany shopping mall in September 2009. The journey of the MDA RIDE began there. Back then, no one expected that it would become the largest motorcycle charity event in Czechia. The event to the benefit of people with muscular dystrophy grown and a few good-hearted celebrities joined gradually.

In 2016, the event moved to the very center of Prague and sharply enlarged. And not only that – our 8th MDA RIDE broke the million CZK threshold for its fundraising efforts for the first time. This was an amazing amount of money for a motorcycle charity event. Our worries about the 12th and 13th editions were certainly negligible compared to the problems we saw around us. However, we tried our best to avoid a gap in the long history, and utilized live streaming on social media. MDA RIDE has donated already more than CZK 10 million to the benefit of individual people with muscular dystrophy and helped to finance 557 projects during the first fourteen years from 2009 to 2022. Thanks to all the wonderful people for your support so far. We are celebrating the 15th “birthday” this year, and the MDA RIDE is closing its childhood and taking the first step to its adulthood.
